All-Style Karate Cup of Russia (Semi Contact Discipline) is dedicated to the Days of Military Glory of Russia

This year, on the 24th of November, the All-Style Karate Cup of Russia was held in the Olympic Center named after the Znamensky Brothers. The event was dedicated to the Days of Military Glory of Russia – the October Revolution Parade of the 7th November, 1941 and the beginning of the Soviet counter-offensive near Moscow on 5 December, 1941.

The organizers of the tournament are: Moscow Martial Arts Association (E.V. Gerasimov, president, deputy of the Moscow City Duma), Russian Shotokan Karate Association (N. Nemchinov, president), International Public Organization “Vityaz Association”, with the participation of Department of Physical Culture and Sport of Moscow and All-Russian Public Organization “The Officers of Russia”.

 

The competition was attended by over 350 athletes of various ages from the cities of Moscow and Balakovo (Saratov region).

 

Competitions were held in the following disciplines: individual kata and individual kumite.

 

The competition was opened by a speech from N. Nemchinov, president of Russian Academy of Karate-Do Shotokan. In his speech, he remarked that the seeds of the Great Victory of 1945 were sown on November 7th, 1941 in Red Square, when the Soviet soldiers showed the invincible spirit and courage, foreshadowing the great victory they would achieve.
